Specification
1.2085 is a pre-hardened and 16%Cr mould steel with improved corrosion resistance properties, Furthermore, specific sulfur improves the machinability response. The grade delivered in quenched and tempered condition has a fully bainite martensite microstructure and typical hardness in as-delivered condition of 280 to 325 HB, good machinability.
Application
Mould frames, tools for processing corrosive plastics. This steel is recommended where the main requirement is for machinability with good corrosion-resistance. This steel is commonly used for mould steel applications including holders or support plates subjected to wet working or storage conditions. The grade is also used for the manufacturing of corrosive materials like PVC, components, plastic moulds.
